Father’s Day Gift Guide
Dads are notorious for being difficult when it comes to buying gifts. Even dads who have a hobby or collect a certain item eventually have enough gear and momentos, leaving family members to scratch their heads when a holiday comes along. Father’s Day can be especially difficult since dad is the only person opening gifts.
If you want to get dad something creative for Father’s Day this year, take some time to think outside the box. There are gifts to accommodate every personality if you just do a little bit of research. In an effort to save you a few steps, here are a few gifts ideas that any dad will be happy to open.
Tech stuff. There can really never be enough technology in the life of today’s dads. There are music players, e-readers, and tablets to fit every dad’s personality and gift-giver’s budget. You can also buy accessories to go with the techie gear that he already owns. Give him a gift that is not necessarily needed but one that he will just enjoy having.
Luxury clothing. Get dad something to add to his wardrobe that is a step above what he usually wears. Consider fur-line moccasions, silk shirts or anything made of alpaca–like alpaca socks or alpaca men’s cardigans. Remember that the point is to give him a gift that is a little bit nicer than what he usually likes to wear and something that will last for several years.
Home decor. Moms are not the only ones who like to fix up their homes. Most dads have a few home projects on their lists to complete and you can help the cause by buying him something specific to go with his latest endeavor. This could be anything like a piece of furniture, new television, or even alpaca blankets to throw on the back of his new lounge chair.
Gift certificates. Give dad a credit to spend at one of his favorite places, whether it’s a restaurant, a store, or activity that he likes to do. Find out where dad likes to eat, shop, or golf and then get a gift certificate for it. People used to think that giving a gift certificate was an impersonal way to show appreciation, but with the array that are available today, dad will feel like you took the time to really consider what he wanted.

Thanks for the tips on Father’s Day gifts! My dad is a real tech guy, so I’m looking for something he will like a lot. Last year, I bought my dad a Tailgater from Dish and from what I’ve seen, he loves it. He uses it while he’s camping, tailgating, and even at our family barbeques. Just last week, we were at the park for my aunt’s birthday, and he used the Tailgater to show the Rockies game in HD on a TV he brought. As soon as I was off of work at Dish, I sped over because I wasn’t going to miss my dad’s cooking nor the game. It was cool seeing the Rockies win! His phone is pretty old, so maybe I could look at getting him an upgrade! We shall see!
